Richard B. Cheney, a distinguished public servant and a businessman is the vice-president. Cheney was well-known on the Washington political scene. George W. Bush would be his fourth U.S. President. Bush named Cheney as his vice-presidential running mate in 2000, due to Cheney's intelligence and judgment. Dick Cheney was a chief of Staff to Presidents, served on the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense, and served his country in many roles. Republicans as well as Democrats all respect his honesty. Cheney says the role he plays within the administration as one of an honest but professional advisor to Bush. Cheney declared that when he decided to accept the Republican nomination to vice-president, he looked forward to working alongside a President who would work across the political aisle to achieve goals and will collaborate with opponents with trust and respect. Richard Bruce Cheney born Jan 30th, 1941 Lincoln Nebraska, the son Richard Herbert Cheney the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey.
